Meet Dr Olivia Rogers

Dr Olivia Rogers is passionate about orthodontics. Not only does she like setting teeth straight, she genuinely cares about her patients.

The profession of dentistry has enabled Olivia to pursue a lifelong love of learning. Olivia graduated with First Class Honours from Dentistry in 2000 from the University of Queensland. She was awarded many academic accolades throughout her degree, five alone in her final year, including The Mary Moffatt Memorial Prize, for the student awarded the highest mark in Orthodontics.

Olivia practised dentistry in rural Queensland for one year before moving to London to work as a dentist and indulge her love of travel.

After six years, she returned to Australia to take up her specialist studies in the highly esteemed postgraduate orthodontic program at the University of Sydney. She obtained her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics in 2010 as well as her Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, and Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Olivia is currently board certified with the Australasian Orthodontic Board.

In 2011, Olivia returned to her home town of Brisbane and worked as an associate in private practice in Chermside for eleven years. At the tail end of this tenure, she took on a role with Queensland Health’s Children’s Oral Health Service, both at Herston and The Queensland Children’s Hospital Cleft Lip and Palate Team.  Providing tertiary orthodontic specialist care for patients with cleft lip and palate, and other cranio-facial anomalies was a very welcome and rewarding part of Olivia’s career. In 2019, Olivia offered her time as a volunteer to help with the orthodontic side of cleft management in Dili, East Timor.

Olivia keeps up to date with the new orthodontic technology and literature and is actively involved in the profession. Olivia served as honorary secretary on the Australasian Orthodontic Board for four years and was part of the executive committee for the Australian Society of Orthodontists, Queensland Branch.

Finally, Olivia is also a member of the Australian Dental Association, American Association for Orthodontists and the World Federation of Orthodontists, and enjoys attending conferences within Australia and hopefully abroad in the near future.

Outside of work, Olivia is a loving and present mother to her two daughters, and loves family time with them, and their two dogs. She loves learning French and writing short stories, as well as keeping fit with swimming.
